If you’ve been following the Valley Mist story for a while then you’ll know that the Baby Skin Balm with Calendula & Rosehip Oil has long been one of our favourite products that we make. Then a few weeks ago we announced that it was a Free From Skincare Awards finalist, alongside our Micellar Water and Toner for Normal-Dry Skin and our Rejuvenating Facial Oil. Now, we’re pleased to announce that the Baby Skin Balm has actually won a Silver Award in the Family Skincare category!
Our First Time Entering the Free From Skincare Awards!
As was emphasised by the Free From Skincare Awards themselves in their announcement on X (formerly known as Twitter), this year was Valley Mist’s Free From Skincare Awards’ debut, having never entered before! Actually they referred to us a ‘debutantes’ which we love because it makes us feel like we’re in Bridgerton… Does that make our Baby Skin Balm the diamond of the season? We certainly think so anyway! Having never entered any awards like these before we have been beyond thrilled with the results; two finalists and one silver winner! Wait a second… What is Baby Skin Balm?
Well, we’re so glad you asked! Our Baby Skin Balm with Calendula and Rosehip Oil was designed with super sensitive baby’s skin in mind, to help soothe nappy rash and dry skin conditions. However, it is also brilliantly effective when used to soothe nipples that have become dry and chapped due to breastfeeding, or other adult dry skin conditions. Personally I have found it to be the best thing to soothe my eczema on my elbows and our founder, Jo, has also used it to soothe stress-induced eczema.
The Baby Skin Balm is an all-round soothing skin balm. Starting off with a firm texture, as soon as it’s applied to the skin it begins to melt, so that it can be massaged in with a wonderfully luxurious texture. You can watch the process on our Instagram here!
