Why we made them

It started with frustration.

Like many of us, Valley Mist founder Jo spent winters cycling through lip balm after lip balm — never quite finding one she trusted. Most high street options, even those labelled "natural", contained petroleum derivatives, chemical flavours, and in some cases, ingredients used in the embalming process.

Jo wanted something different. Something genuinely natural, British-made, and honest about every ingredient inside.

Less is more

Valley Mist lip balms are built on a simple philosophy: fewer, better ingredients.

With high percentage raw and organic cocoa seed butter at their heart, every blend carries a gentle, natural chocolatey warmth across the range. There are no chemical flavours, no petroleum products, and no nasties dulling your senses. Just potent, plant-based ingredients that let the natural aromas speak for themselves.

They are not for everyone — and that's exactly the point.

How to use your Valley Mist lip balm

Our lip balms are firm by design — they last a long time and travel well. Here's how to get the best from them:

Step 1: Remove the lid to reveal the lip balm inside. You'll see a round disc at the base of the inner paper tube.

Step 2: To push up the balm,hold the paper tube with one hand and use your thumb or finger to gently push the disc upward from the bottom. Take it slowly — a little goes a long way.

Step 3: If it is snuggled in, don't force it. This is most common with our vegan blends in cold weather. Simply pop the lip balm into your front jeans pocket for ten minutes. Your body heat is the perfect temperature to gently coax it free — no cost, no carbon footprint.
