Is Valley Mist a plastic-free skincare brand?
Valley Mist is a UK plastic-free skincare brand committed to reducing environmental impact through thoughtful packaging and formulation choices. Our products are packaged in glass, aluminium or compostable materials rather than conventional plastic packaging wherever possible.
Our formulations are also designed to avoid ingredients that may contribute to future microplastic pollution, including synthetic polymers such as PEGs or carbomer.
We also operate a bottle return scheme to encourage reuse and reduce waste.
This reflects our commitment to creating products that are truly plastic-free both in packaging and formulation.
Where are the products made?
We make all Valley Mist products by hand in small batches at our lab at Charnock Farm in Lancashire, England.
All products are formulated, blended and finished on site to ensure freshness, quality and minimal waste.

How long does delivery take?
Subject to availability, we typically dispatch online orders within 1–3 working days, Tuesday through Friday.
All orders are shipped via Royal Mail.
For all items except lip balms, you can choose either Royal Mail Tracked 24 or Tracked 48 at checkout.
During busy periods or holiday closures, updated dispatch times are always clearly noted on our website.
What if I have a problem with my order?

Are all Valley Mist products vegan?
Not all Valley Mist products are vegan.
Ouroriginal lip balms contain beeswax.
Our
cleansing grains contain coconut milk powder, which requires the use of a milk enzyme during processing
Because of this, the cleansing grains were not approved by The Vegan Society, whose application process is extremely thorough.
Bees — or as we like to think of them, our bee caretakers — are a central part of why Valley Mist exists, so we choose to work with beeswax responsibly and with great care.

Are your products suitable for sensitive skin?
Many Valley Mist products are formulated with sensitive skin in mind.
Our Baby Skin Balms are suitable for irritated or sensitive skin, including baby-soft skin.
All products titled Pure contain no essential oils.
Do you use synthetic fragrance in your products?
No. We use natural essential oils only and do not use synthetic fragrance.
As a result, our products are phthalate-free.
What are your shop opening times?
Our Lancashire shop is open at the following times:

Are facial oils better than moisturisers?
Facial oils help seal moisture into the skin and support the natural skin barrier. Many people find that oils provide effective nourishment and conditioning without the need for traditional cream emulsifiers, especially when used alongside a hydrating toner. Valley Mist focuses on botanical facial oils and bi-phase moisturisers as a more minimal and natural skincare approach.
Do you have products suitable for pregnancy and babies?
Yes. We have a dedicated Mum & Baby range that has been specifically formulated for baby-soft skin and gentle family use.
Our Mother & Baby range includes:
Award-winning Baby Skin Balms, created to help soothe and protect dry, irritated, or sensitive skin
Organic Baby Massage Oils, formulated to be gentle and suitable for baby skin.
I'm having trouble pushing the lip balm up out of the paper tube.
Our lip balms are 100% natural and packaged in plastic-free paper tubes, so they can be sensitive to temperature.
If the ambient temperature is cool, the balm may feel firmer. We recommend following our full HOW TO, which includes tips on use and care.
Living sustainably isn’t always the most convenient option, and there can be a short adjustment period — but these small changes help us put the planet first.
Your shop is beautiful, is it true it has been created from recycled and up-cycled materials?
Yes — our shop interior was created by interior stylist Claire Lawlor, using almost entirely second-hand and reclaimed materials.
Claire carefully sourced furniture, fittings, and display items to save them from landfill. In fact, only three items in the shop were purchased new.

What happen to the your beautiful cleansing cream?
Our 2-in-1 cleansing and moisturising cream was discontinued in May 2021 as part of an intentional shift in our formulation philosophy.
As our understanding of skincare ingredients evolved, we chose to move away from conventional emulsified products and instead focus on simpler, lower-waste formulations that better align with our values around skin health and environmental impact.
This change led us to promote a bi-phase approach using facial oils rather than traditional creams.
